Visit Flint Ridge Vineyard Winery!
Come spend an afternoon among the scenic hills of Southeastern Ohio. Relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the views from our terraces. Savor a gourmet pizza, fresh from our wood-fired stone oven. Venture for a walk in our vineyards and absorb the breathtaking panorama. Be rejuvenated by the fresh country air.
Flint Ridge Vineyard is one of only 6 locations in Ohio where you can purchase heirloom vegetable seeds that are preserved by the Seed Savers Exchange. We will soon be ordering our annual supply of seeds and are taking requests. If there is a particular variety from the Seed Savers selection which you would like us to order for you, let us know.
New wines from the 2008 vintage are now available at Flint Ridge Vineyard.
The warm, dry fall of last year helped produce some of our most flavorful wines to date.
Come sample our new bottlings of:
Marachel Foch
New World White
Adena White
Traminette
Winter Hours
The winery will be open once a month through the winter. The next hours for the tasting room will beSaturday Feb. 20th, and we will have hot soup to warm you up. Our Feb. 13th hours have been canceled due to heavy snow and poor road conditions.
We have cheese plates available on most Saturdays or you are welcome to bring a picnic basket of food. Pizzas are available only on special dates because of the time involved in preparing the handmade crust and in firing the oven.

Employees of the Month:
August
Momma Cow birthed her second calf, a female named Alouga, in early August. We commend Momma on her hard labor, and dedicated service to Flint Ridge Vineyard and it's pastures.
July
Flint Ridge Vineyard employs a herd of American Blackbelly sheep to graze our land. We like to think of them as our four-legged fermenters. We ferment the grapes to make wine and they ferment the grass to make meat. Rather than viewing our weedy fields as a burdensome chore to mow, we look on it as a resource, and translate a consumptive activity (mowing) into a productive activity (food production).

WINEMAKER'S PHILOSOPHY AT FLINT RIDGE VINEYARD WINERY
Our wines have a sense of place. They express our 'terroir'. Terroir is the French concept that sun, soil, and the soul of the winemaker combine to become expressed in a wine which can "only" be described, after one has savored it, as coming from the Flint Ridge in Southeastern Ohio. As you'll read herein, our goal is to grow the highest quality fruit we, our sun, soil and soul, can eke out of the flint bearing clays and glacial spoil mounds of our farm. Our wines are an expression of our place. Like we aspire to be, our wines are intended to be subtle, straightforward, and revealing some more of themselves to he who engages them over time. If one of our wines is sweet, the sweetness will not overpower the grape.

We're often asked, "Do you ever let guests stomp grapes during the crush?"
Now, what kind of question is this? What self respecting winery wouldn't? To add to the drama, we're a bit coy, but we answer...
from the edge of the flint ridge region of southeastern ohio
Our vision is to produce wines distinct to our place: sun, soil, seasons...
and soul.
Welcome.
Inside you'll find out about us, our place, its history, a bit of our history, our motivation, our products, and the place and people they capture in their flavors.
